I recently posted about a friend’s fiance sending him an email
and calling things off between them with no explanations.
I’m happy to make a positive post and say the issue has been resolved and my
friend left yesterday flying back to Moscow for support and reassurances to her.
The issue was for a month she was hearing nothing but bad news about our
economy and that America was falling apart financially and many bad things
were happening to us.
I had a discussion with my fiance about this and she said they were hearing
some of the same things but she had trust in me that she and her daughter
would be ok here.
She then volunteered to give her a call on the phone and discuss this with
her. I also told two more girls that had been here for several years and
they volunteered to call her also. It took a few days and several calls from each one of them and time to let
her think about things and realize that she would be ok here also.
She sent my friend an sms and asked him to call her. He told me she was very
upset and crying because she didn’t understand about things in America and
she was extremely apologetic about not having trust in him to take care of
her and her daughter when they got here.
Her interview is this week so her fiance is with her now and will be with
her for support on the day of her interview.
She also wants him to stay another week with them and then return with
him.So, some of us are going to cover his business for him until they get
here and we’re all going to be there when they land in Atlanta to greet them
with big smiles on our faces.
I think this should be a warning to all of us and maybe we should make extra
efforts on our part to continue supporting our girls and reassuring them
that everything will be ok here again.
I would like to thank all the guys that sent me emails giving your support
and offering to help and thanks for telling me about your failures. I’ve
learned a lot from your emails and I’ll reply to everyone of them as time
permits me.
It’s your real life experiences that we learn from. I’ve had a failure in
Russia so this problem with my friend went straight to my heart. I felt
hopeless and did not know what to say to him but did use some of your
suggestions to help resolve this issue with a great guy and I’m sure a good
future for him and his new family.
