Excellent Dentist & Surgeon in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine
When I find someone that’s good at what they do in any country, I try to pass on the information.
Just to let you know what transpired to lead me to a dentist in Ukraine, I’ll try to fill you in. Less than a year ago, I went to my dentist at home to have a bridge put in. After taking ex-rays of my mouth, he found what he said was an infection under one tooth and wouldn’t do the bridge during that appointment. He gave me an antibiotic and sent me home. A month later my bridge was put in. Less than six months ago I was back to my dentist for a simple check up and he found nothing wrong. Two weeks after that, a tooth broke. Then about two months after that another piece of the same tooth broke and this time I could see a cavity in what broke off. I also noticed a tooth that I was concerned about and told my dentist about it but he brushed me off. During this time he never did check the tooth that had the original infection.
As it turned out, this was not an infection under my tooth but a jaw bone cyst that was starting to grow at that time. The dentist here said that it had to be growing longer than a year to be the size that it was. This dentist in Krivoy Rog is wonderful. You can’t feel the shots he puts into your gum. He does a fine job of reconstructing a tooth if there is no time to have a cap or crown put on. His name is Dr, Pavel Kolomiets and his clinic’s name is Bez Bolyu located at Koctenko St., 15/2 The phone number listed on his card is 74 48 42
Dr. Kolomiets recommended that an associate and former classmate of his, to be the one to remove this cyst. I said OK, and an appointment was set up for a bone scan and then another appointment was set up with Dr. Igor Oleinik. This guy is excellent at what he does. He has been offered positions in other clinics outside of Ukraine, which he has no desire to do. During the operation, he brought in his associates to see his method of taking care of this problem because it was such a huge cyst of 1.2 cm’s. He said that when one gets this large the jaw bone usually breaks. Half of the height of my jaw bone was gone and this cyst was in the place where there was bone at one time. At first he didn’t think he could save the tooth that had the cyst wrapped around it but the cyst wasn’t securely attached to it and the cyst came out without a problem. Dr. Oleinik gave me a mirror during this operation so I could follow what he was doing. The incision was about two inches long and
by the time he scraped away the soft bone, there was a large hole in my jaw. He used a Russian made ingredient that would replace the bone in that area and filled the whole cavity in with the, white bead looking, filler.
I will get more information on Dr. Oleinik when I visit him again, Monday. Even though I look like I have another face growing on the side of mine, I feel no pain. There was some fever yesterday but I’m taking medication for infection to keep that away. According to Dr. Oleinik this was not a typical operation because of the size of the cyst. He is very happy with the results and how I’m coming along.
This little escapade wasn’t planned, other than to get the other two teeth fixed. Thank God, I came here to get this work done and Dr. Oleinik said I came in time. The only problem is that I can’t drive very far because I feel sleepy after this surgery. My little trip to Lugansk is put on hold for maybe this next week. Otherwise I will have to come back to Krivoy Rog to see the dogs that I came to see.
To change the subject, the puppy that I have here that I bought from a breeder in Vladivostok is one of the best female puppies that I’ve seen in this breed. She has personality plus and smart as a pup can be. She is going to make a perfect mate for my male dog back in the states.
For those that are worried about driving in Ukraine, don’t worry. I have driven all over this area every day and never have been stopped once by any police, not even to be checked for papers. I have driven past several squad cars and walking police and never once had a problem. If I make the trip to Lugansk and Donetsk, I’ll let you know how it goes. One thing a person has to worry about is all the rest of the nuts behind the wheel. Natasha is very cautious behind the wheel and we’ve seen plenty of accidents in this town. There was a bad one at an intersection on the main road through this town yesterday. Some drivers don’t care, they will pass you on the right, drive out in front of you at intersections, or even cut you off, but if you are a good defensive driver you’ll not have any problems.
